It seems like a lot of my posts these days are about Emmett. He seems to be changing a lot, all of a sudden, and I want to try and record some of it. He has become extremely verbal in the last few weeks.
- Speaks in complete sentences, for the most part.
- Questions are also complete sentences.
- Speaks mainly in third person.
- Refers to Brent as "Emmett's Fodder (father)" ~ "Where's Emmett's fodder? Emmett's fodder is working?"
- Has a few favorite words/phrases ~ "probly", "not quite yet", "ta-da!"
- Has really good manners. Usually says please and thanks.
- Loves band-aids. Girls wear jewelry, he wears band-aids.
He's also been into crafts. He loves paper, pens, scissors, paint, markers, high-lighters, stickers, etc. He still has a fairly short attention span though, so many projects go unfinished.
He has also been into role-playing. (I guess that's what you call it.)
- Likes to cook and then serve me, always warning me "Be careful, it's really really hot!"
- Will use any rectangle shape item as a phone and have inaginary conversations. I heard him yesterday, "Hi grandpa. You come over?...not quite yet...ok." Using the remote control of course.
- Fills his purse and heads to work or school.
- Rocks his giraffe and sings "Rock-a-bye-Baby" and knows a lot of the words.
Oh he has his moments that keep me reminded that he is a two-year-old and very much a boy and very much his father's son, but I love him nonetheless. In fact I think I love him a little more each day. If that is possible. Which I think it is.
