Reason for loving the Christmas season (part 5)

Last one of this series, I promise.

My favorite part of the Christmas season is Christmas morning. A few weeks prior to Christmas, I asked Emmett what he wanted. The only thing he ever talked about was Jessie, from Toy Story. Since he got Buzz and Woody last year, I knew he would really love her. He was actually with me when we bought her, but he still somehow believes that Santa brought her. And even though he knew he was getting her, he was still surprised to find her under the tree!

This picture just makes me happy.

Reason for loving the Christmas season (part 4)

We had a small playdate with the cousins at Katie's house. We had snacks, made suckers and did a couple of crafts. A few were the typical sets you get at JoAnns, button clothespin magnets, and I also found this wreath ornament to make. (Super easy and a great way to use up a puzzle that was missing a whole bunch of pieces.)

It was cold and snowy outside, but we were warm and cozy inside. Perfect for Christmas activities!

Reason for loving the Christmas season (part 3)

The fact that Emmett can wear the same adorable outfit over and over within a month and its totally acceptable. This would be his khaki cableknit sweater and green plaid shirt.

And of course, the Sunday school Christmas program. I had a much better seat this time around, and the light was better as well. He's not nearly the performer that his dad is, but also not terrified of the stage like his mama!

He actually did a great job singing the songs and doing the motions. I still catch him singing one of the choruses from time to time.

Reason for loving the Christmas season (part 1)

Emmett's first Christmas program. Ever. This one was for his preschool. Actually all of the classes were on stage at the same time, (3's, 4's, and 5's) When I dropped him off at his classroom, he was really nervous. But once I saw him marching proudly up onto the stage, I knew he would do great. Of course he waved at us a couple of times. And tried to crawl under the risers with another kid during one of the songs. Other than that, great.

Of course, one of sweet Sadie. She took this performance very seriously!

Afterwards Grandma Carol and Grandpa Steve took him out for a milkshake. Fun night for this little boy!

(Disclaimer on the photo quality...the lighting was horrible and very low, there were people everywhere crammed into a small sanctuary, and kids who don't sit still. I am disappointed with the amount of pictures I got, but I did the best I could!)

Meeting Santa

Santa came to Emmett's preschool class this morning. He has been really hesitant of people in costume lately (ie the Red Robin bird), so I wasn't sure how he would do. (Remember meeting Santa last year?) When I got there, all the kids were sitting in a half circle around Santa and each kid got a chance to sit on his lap. His teacher told me that he had been sitting and watching the other kids, but was a little unsure if he wanted to. I think when I got there, he felt a little safer (at least that's what I like to think!), so he decided to take a turn. And he did great! He told Santa all about his dinosaurs at home, but didn't tell him what he wants for Christmas. Santa even gave him a present, a new Curious George book!
