Emmett's latest project. He got a cool dinosaur book for his birthday. There are "color by number" dinosaurs to color and then put together. He takes it very seriously and is so proud of his work when he is done!

These two boys have so much fun together. We decided to break out the transformers this afternoon. Emmett had a great time showing Alex just what to do.

Emmett and I decided to go on am impropmtu photo scavenger hunt. I scribbled a list of things we could find outside, packed up the stroller and we ran to the closest park. He had a great time finding things and snapping pictures with our little camera. Definitely something we want to do again.

This last picture shows what can happen in a matter of minutes around here. We got home from our little excursion about 15 minutes before the downpour.

Another Pinterest hit! Pizza muffins. I made these for a quick dinner for Emmett and he loved them! The nice thing about the recipe is that it doesn't make a huge batch. (I think it's supposed to make 12, but I only get 9 or 10.)

We had glorious weather this weekend. Emmett and I took grandpa to the MK Nature Center for a short excursion.

My buddy boy's birthday. Hard to believe this kid is 5! He has been desperate to turn 5, ever since his two best buds (aka, cousins) each turned 5 a few months ago. So, when his day finally came, he was ecstatic to say the least.

We started the day with Krispy Kreme, the breakfast of champions.

We ended up eating a glazed one, fresh off the line. And of course, brought a few home.

One of the radio stations was boradcasting from the parking lot, so Emmett took a few minutes from donuts to do a little table dancing.

And, this is my attempt at just one good "5 year old" picture.

His main present from us was a 2-wheeled razor scooter!

New shades!

We hit up the new Nordstrom Rack a few days ago and found a new shirt, perfect for wearing on his birthday.

All in all, he had a great day.
